You will feel full for longer periods of time by eating foods high in fiber, and these foods also help in removing retained water from your body.

Aside from fruits and vegetables, other foods that are high in fiber are oatmeal and whole wheat bread so make sure that you are getting these foods in your diet. After you have just gone through a strenuous exercise regimen, what you need to do to help yourself regain the energy that you lost is you need to be eating foods that are high in omega-3 fats.

There are the good fats that can actually help your body lose weight and provide you with the energy that you need to function throughout the day. Good sources of these fats are canola oil, soybean oil, olive oil, and peanut butter is also very high in omega-3 fats. Every diet meal that you eat should include fruits and vegetables in them.

Something I also recommend you do to help yourself lose weight is start drinking green tea more often on a daily basis. Green tea contains an antioxidant in it called epigallocatechin gallate that helps to start a process known as thermogenesis to burn stored fat in the body speeding up the metabolic rate.

Green tea has also been shown to help lower cholesterol levels, and it is a great alternative for those men and women who are used to drinking coffee and caffeine often. So remember that the best foods to lose weight are foods high in fiber, low in calories, and high in protein.
